Evaluation Problems :(

So after completing my final evaluation last Friday, I've spent the weekend trying to convert it from PowerPoint to video. Unfortunately, it seems to be having issues when trying to convert it. This is around my sixth attempt to convert it and it's still not working. It doesn't help that it takes a few hours per conversion attempt. :/

Evaluation

This week, we've started our final evaluations for our opening sequences. We have been given seven questions to answer and we have to present them creatively in a way that demonstrates our media skills. Our final deadline for them is the week before the Easter holidays; hopefully I'll finish by then. :P

Top Marks! :D

For our opening sequence, we got top marks in our class! :D We were awarded 56 out of 60 for our opening sequence of a psychological thriller, Released. I would like to say well done to the other members of my group, Sophie, Dom and Lester. We did brilliantly! :D

Finished!

Today was our deadline for our opening sequence. We've handed it in and now we wait for our mark. :S

Editing and a Bit More Filming

This week we have pretty much completed editing as well as filmed the final shots. Today and tomorrow we will finish editing the clips we filmed this week and hopefully come up with a high standard completed sequence. :)

Editing and First Draft

Today, our first draft is due in. :S

After the other members of my group filmed the scenes in Apex, we spent Thursday's lesson editing a rough sequence. Lester stayed after school to finish getting the clips in the right order and adding the credits to the opening sequence. Today, I came in for an extra two hours to sort out the sound in our clip, which I was in charge of. After muting all the clips, I added the piece of music I found on the internet and began adding sound effects. As our sequence is due in for lunchtime, I can come in at the beginning of lunch and finish adding the sound effects. I also trimmed a few clips and added some different transitions.

Target For Our Opening Sequence

After having our teacher watch our first draft and watching the opening sequences from last year, we were told to write a target for our own opening sequence, based on what we'd seen and the feedback we'd been given. The target I've come up with is to get our opening sequence to a consistent quality, as our beginning is much better than the rest of it.

Filming and Editing Update

On Monday and Tuesday, we got the bulk of the filming out of the way. Today we started editing the clips together to get a basic sequence but as we are still waiting on the Apex scenes, we didn't get very far. After school, Lester, Sophie and Dom are going to film the Apex scenes. Unfortunately, due to other commitments, I can't go and film with them. However, I will take a larger role in editing to compensate.

Another Update

Today, Lester and I filmed the scenes at the end of the clip. It was wet, rainy and cold so we filmed the scenes quickly. Unfortunately still no Apex scenes filmed yet because of the weather so we'll get them filmed early next week.

Filming Update

Today was a productive day. :) We filmed our corridor shots around school which means we have almost finished filming at school.

However, yesterday, both Dom and Sophie were ill, which means we couldn't film anything. This means we haven't filmed any Apex scenes. Because of this, we have amended our filming schedule. The new schedule is shown below.

Unsuccessful Day :(

Today was a very unsuccessful day as you can probably guess from the title. We were scheduled to film at Apex Park and get a large amount of filming done. Unfortunately, due to issues with the weather and minor flooding, we were unable to film anything today. This will impact on our original schedule and we will have to get the filming done as soon as possible to complete the task within the allotted time. How annoying. :/

We're just beginning to film our opening sequence. Hopefully, we can get filming out of the way pretty quickly and start editing soon. :)
